The Twelfth International e-Learning Conference was held at Belgrade Metropolitan University on 23rd and 24th September 2021, named e-Learning 2021. The President of Belgrade Metropolitan University, professor Dr. Dragan Domazet officially opened the conference. He presented the ways in which Metropolitan University has adapted to changes and organised during the pandemic and how it transfered form traditional to online classes. In addition, he also talked about the importantance of constantly improving and modernising tools for distance learning.
During the peak of Covid-19 virus pandemic, the conference was held hybridly (in University’s building and online via Zoom platform). There were of totally 24 papers which were presented. Apart from domestic authors, authors from Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, the United States of America, Oman, Austria and Italy also presented their research.
As a part of the conference, there was a Round table titled ’’Remote Learning’’, where professors Dr. Ana Proykova, from the University of Sofia and Dr. Blazenka Divjak, from the University of Zagreb, took part. Professor Proykova presented her research from the field of VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality), in the domain of whether virtual laboratories are going to replace physical, while professor Divjak presented in the field of analytics of studying the example of pilot project ’eSchools’.
Metropolitan University was the first in the region to start teaching distance education, when in 2005 it received a license from the Ministry of Education, thanks to state-of-the-art technologies it applies. This method of learning resulted in a unique program of advanced academic and professional studies.
